Okay I'm making bookmarks and selling them to raise awareness and funraise for schools. I will donate the money to Unicef : http://www.unicef.ca/portal/SmartDefault.aspx
Thats what I'm doing :) I plan on making 40-50 bookmarks and selling them for 50 cents or something like that.

What I will do for my project?

For my project my topic will be on lack of Education around the world. In many countries kids aren't getting all the education they need. So I am raising awareness about it. What I will do is make a flash video or film that about the problem. I then will post it on Youtube and send it to everyone I know and tell them to forward it. I will also put it on my Facebook page.
I might also do a bake sale or art sale and raise money for places that don't have schools so they can build their own.

Please tell me if this is a good idea or not :)

What I have done this year to show citizenship:

I have volunteered at a winter carnival. It was fun and I did it to help out the community.

I picked up litter around my community. It was weird to see what people littered and how much.

Citizenship: Each student will be a responsible citizen by being an informed and involved member in his or her local, national and global communities.

Education

WHY I CARE?

I care about the problem with education because it is a worldwide problem. Many people around the world don't get the education they need. If they don't get the education they need then they might end up doing bad things. They will have to do small pay jobs just to live. But if they are educated then they will be able to get a job and their quality of life will be so much better. They won't be living in poverty, and if they have kids then their kids will be educated. It's basically a cycle, so if all the people around the world get their proper education then the world economy will be better and education for all will be one less thing to worry about.

WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?

This is a huge world wider problem and if it is solved think of the better life millions of people will be living. Think about the kind of life you would have if you didn't know how to read or write. Can't do math daon't know much about anything. You'd be living in poverty, not good. According to http://www.globalissues.org/there are 121 million kids in the world with no education. That is sad. If you help out you can change 1 kid out of 121 million kids life around.

WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT IT?

I can funraise money to send to charities that help kids who don't get an education. I can raise awareness though Youtube, Facebook and Blogger.

1) Do computers give us more human connections or less?

I believe that computers give us bothe more human and less human connections. For example a way that it gives us more human connections is the fact that it is easier to communicate with other people and get your opinon heard. Instead of communicating with people halfway across the world using actual mail (snail mail), you can now just email them and they can get it in 2 minutes or less. You can also get your opinion heard through chatting sites and blogs and vlogs. It is so much easier than before. Also you can now access everything just by phone. However computers also give us less human connections. Many people now a days spend a huge amount of time gaming on the internet they don't have time to do things like go for a walk, go to the gym and even not able to go grocery shopping! If all we do is play on the computer or spend all our time on sites like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, it will cause many health problems, eyesight problems, carpel tunnel and obese problems. To conclude, there are many pros and cons about human connections. It does good things for us and also many bad things.

2) 5 rules for manner and ethics online

1-Never give out personal information
2-Don't be rude or swear on the internet
3-Don't plagerize
4-Don't be too biased
5-Don't give away other peoples information too

3) Should teachers encourage multitasking?

I believe that teachers shouldn't encourage multitasking do to the fact that if you multitask you can never give a 100% on what you're doing. It is much harder to focus on different things at once. Even though you get more done at once it isn't as good as doing one thing at a time. Sure multitasking is okay at times like listening to music while dancing. But when you're doing work ( writing, homework etc.) it isn't cool.
